You’ll need proof of identity and proof of birth. If you’ve been married before, you’ll also need evidence of how that marriage ended.

5. Sign the Declaration of No Legal Impediment
Before the ceremony, you’ll sign a short declaration confirming you’re free to marry. This is usually done at a rehearsal or just before the ceremony.
6. Final Check-In with your Celebrant
Confirm your timeline, arrival times, witness names, and any last‑minute details so everything runs smoothly on the day.
